GreenFire’s SolarPowerCanopy™ opens a whole new world of possibilities for energy independence, supplying our homes with an unlimited source of electricity, harvesting pure rainwater, and lighting our homes with pure, energy free sunlight. The excess electricity can be used to power a Electric Hybrid Car.
The SolarPowerCanopy™ generates all the electric power needed by not only the home, but also can power electric cars plus it generates solar hot water and harvests rainwater for the rooftop gardens and natural drinking water. By utilizing this otherwise underutilized area - the roof - and elevating it so far above ground, GreenFire™ has opened the door to an entirely New Species of true environmental home – an entirely self contained home with a very small footprint that has a virtual zero environmental impact and will eliminate the need for typical ‘slash and build’ developments.
The Photovoltaic Arrays. The most visible feature of the SolarPowerCanopy are the blue PV or Photovoltaic Arrays that generate the electricity for the home. A GreenFire Home has the largest roof area devoted exclusively to electric generation of any American home currently in production. The illustration shows most of the Canopy used for PV arrays with a portion devoted to hot water collectors and greenhouse diffusing glass.
Hot Water Heating. Visible as the black panels on the SolarPowerCanopy™, the solar hot water array can provide enough hot water for the entire family. The highly insulated 100 gallon storage tank in the utility room and the tank-less backup gas heating system assure that there will be a steady supply of hot water with or without the sun.
Rainwater Harvesting. The SolarPowerCanopy serves a secondary purpose; as a clean, non-polluted collection surface for rainwater. Rain runs off the PV panels to the Canopy roof below and from there into a series of collection drains. These drains divert the first of the rainwater, which may contain some dust & debris (called the ‘flush’), directly into the garden planters below providing the purest of natural waters for growing the purest of natural organic plants. If there is enough rain left over after flushing the system, the surplus rainwater is diverted into the sand & charcoal filter and is collected in the three story, 8,000-gallon rainwater storage tank. This gives every GreenFire™ Home the equivalent of 40,000 bottles of the World’s purest natural drinking water on Earth, free of pollutants, contaminates, minerals & salts, pesticides, fertilizers, bacteria and, viruses. And it is infinitely renewable - for free.

Not shown are the special GreenFire™ SolarLightPumps™ that gather and focus sunlight into mirrored tubes that deliver natural sunlight to the whole house. This system, combined with GreenFire’s overhead mirrored surfaces and low energy fluorescent bulbs, create a brilliant yet energy free whole house lighting system.
