Our Dynamic Air Revitalizing (D.A.R.) System is the heart of our energy free heating & cooling system as well as our natural air purification system. It is exclusive with the GreenFire Global SuperHome™, invented and developed by our Founder. A deceptively simple system, it is made of simple river rocks and sea salt plus a simple fan and some simple electronics, yet it eliminates a conventional furnace, a conventional air conditioning system, and an air filtration system.
Thermal Dynamic Averaging
Thermal Dynamic Averaging is not complicated, but it does require a very different way of thinking. For example, normally people accept that when it gets cold at night, a furnace is needed to keep the house warm. When it gets hot during the day, an air conditioning unit is needed to keep things cool. BUT..... what if you could average the two - using the heat of the day to heat at night and using the cool of the night to cool the day? How? By the use of a large thermal mass. In this case a very large rock chamber under the house. By blowing air through the rocks, energy is stored in the rocks and is transfered back and forth between the rocks and the air. Because of the large mass, this system is very thermally stable and the air temperature changes very little over time. (see Ultra-Energy Efficiency’).
Air Scrubbing and Purification
With the thermal success of the Chamber, West decided to upgrade it to an air scrubbing and purification system using common sea salt. While the exact technique remains a closely guarded secret, GreenFire D.A.R. system filters air full of bacteria, viruses, mold, mildew, pollen, dust, mites, and even odor to 99.99% purity without conventional filters. Moreover, unlike conventional mechanical filters that allow biological pathogens to accumulate and grow on the filter and be re-distributed back into the home, all biological pathogens entering the GreenFire’s Dynamic Air Revitalizing (D.A.R.) System are either killed outright or encapsulated in salt permanently.
Oxygenation
One of the main obstacles in the early development of energy efficient homes was the fact that homes had to be better sealed to prevent the massive heat loss common with wooden homes. In early energy efficient homes, this problem was overcome by introducing outside air into the home under controlled conditions. However, even controlled, there was still energy loss. At GreenFire, the Dynamic Air Revitalizing System recirculates, filters, and revitalizes the air with minimal energy loss.
The D.A.R. uses electronically charged plates to positively charge the incoming air (also part of the air scrubbing system). This creates trace amounts of ozone. This misunderstood molecule is simply pure oxygen - O3 instead of O2. When outside air is brought in, it is essentially ‘supercharged’ with trace amounts of ozone which react with the odors in the air to both neutralize the odors and release extra oxygen.
Sound exotic? Not really. It is exactly what happens in nature during a thunder storm and is responsible for the wonderful, fresh, invigorating smell after a spring rain. It is also the reason that our homes naturally smell like springtime year round.
